Privacy Policy

To deliver comprehensive care, we will need to collect your personal and healthcare information for the purposes of assessment, treatment, and billing.  It is understood that your information will only be shared with members of ACE Health and Wellness Inc. and with others involved in the care circle.  This may include physicians, specialists, consultants, pharmacists, nurses, nurse practitioners, counsellors, among others.  â€‹

Protecting your privacy is of the utmost importance to us.  At ACE Health and Wellness Inc., we ensure that our policies comply with Ontario’s Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) to ensure your information is handled securely and safely.  For more information on this click here.  Under no circumstances do we rent, sell or share User's information with third parties unless obligated by law to do so.

We understand the importance of protecting your child's privacy, especially in an online environment. The Site is not designed or directed at children under the age of 18. Under no circumstances shall we allow minors to use our services without consent or authorization from a parent or legal guardian. We do not knowingly collect Personal Health Information from minors.

Protecting the privacy of their dependents who do not have capacity is essential as well.  We will not collect PHI or treat someone who does not have capacity without the knowledge and consent of their power of attorney, custodian or guardian.

Electronic Health Records
Client health information may be maintained in electronic health records that are password- and firewall-protected. The software only allows health professionals who are identified as involved in your healthcare to have access to your information.

ACE Health and Wellness Inc. uses GoodX Healthcare Canada as their Electronic Healthcare Record system who are also PHIPA compliant.

Record Retention and Destruction

We will retain your Personal Health Information (PHI) for as long as necessary to provide our services, and as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce policies.  We will keep your PHI records for as long as required by applicable laws and regulations.  Records will be destroyed at the earliest reasonable time according to law.

Definitions:

  • Personal Health Information (PHI): includes oral or written information that relates to the individual’s physical or mental health, including family health history, medications, allergies among others.

  • Collection and Use of PHI: We collect your PHI to provide care, manage billing, and meet legal obligations.

  • Implied Consent: By receiving care, you provide implied consent for us to use and share your PHI with other healthcare providers involved in your care circle.

  • Express Consent: For any non-essential uses (e.g., sharing with third parties), we will request explicit consent.

  • Confidentiality: Your information will not be shared without your consent unless required by law.

  • Access to Records: You have the right to access and request corrections to your health records.
